In December, 2002, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court put on hold a rule streamlining the state’s Right-to-Know Law by allowing citizens to take disputes over records access to local magistrates. Now, the court has rejected the recommendation of its Minor Courts Rules Committee entirely. It offered no explanation. Open government advocates said it saved citizen seeking records both legal expenses and time. (5/31/06)
