New rules for Pennsylvania court records allow the public online access to information about people who have been charged with a crime but not convicted, despite objections from such groups as the Philadelphia Bar Association and the American Civil Liberties Union, who argued it could hurt people wrongly accused of a crime. However a spokesman for the court system noted that 14 other states already allow such access, as do federal courts.
