Pennsylvania Stonewalled on Flood Threat, Woman Testifies

A woman whose family was twice flooded out of their home told a legislative committee she was stonewalled by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and the state’s Department of Transportation when she sought information on water pipes running along the turnpike, pipes she said caused the flooding. She appeared before a committee examining proposals to tighten the state’s open records laws, now among the weakest in the country. (4/30/07)
