As part of the settlement in a FOIA lawsuit brought by a University of Delaware journalism professor and the National Security Archive, the Pentagon agreed to release additional photographs of military personnel killed in Iraq. The suit against the Defense Department policy, in place since the Persian Gulf War in 1991, covers military photos. It does not affect the DOD ban on news photographs or coffins being flown into Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. (8/5/05)
