The South Dakota Supreme Court unanimously rejected a request by the Argus Leader to make public a list of guests at the governor’s annual pheasant hunt in 2005. The court said the information is not public record under state law. The paper sought the names because state officials use the event to attract businesses to locate in South Dakota. (9/25/07)
