Only two-thirds of its requests for public records were honored, the auditor’s office in Multnomah County (Portland) Oregon said, adding that in many cases county officials asked “generally inappropriate” questions of those making records requests. The auditor’s office said 33 of its 49 requests for legally public documents were honored, and in some cases the requesters had to make repeated attempts to get a document. (12/8/06)
