President Bush, responding to recommendations of the Public Interest Declassification Board, asked all agency heads to comment on the proposals and whether they should be implemented. He set an April 15 deadline. The board offered 49 recommendations to increase the utility and productivity of declassification including a database of declassified documents. (1/31/08)
