State prosecutors in Minnesota have asked for the notes and testimony of three journalists who covered a police standoff that grew out of a domestic disturbance. The subject, who talked with a reporter by phone during the standoff, killed himself. Editors of the Mankato Free Press said they would fight the effort to gather reporter notes. (1/19/07)
