The Project on Government Oversight, a Washington-based advocacy group put transparency high on its list of priorities for the new Congress. POGO urged Congress to limit the classification within defense- and security-related budgets, arguing that existing secrecy hinders oversight. The group also urged lawmakers to review the surge in pseudo-classification, the use of secrecy designations on unclassified government documents, saying a recent count by the Director of National Intelligence found more than 100.
