The incoming chairman of the House Government Reform Committee, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-CA., will form a new subcommittee on information policy, an indication he plans to push legislation and oversight in the areas of access and freedom of information. He also convinced fellow committee members to amend the pending OPEN Government Act to add tougher agency reporting requirements on FOIA performance. (12/13/06)
