A reporter in Pennsylvania was scheduled to testify in a county court on Tuesday about a story she wrote that quoted a fugitive, The Daily Item in Sunbury, Penn., reported.

Marcia Moore wrote the story a month ago, and quoted in it William Morales, who was a suspect in a stabbing incident and at the time had fled the area. According to the paper, the local district attorney subpoenaed Moore to testify about her conversation with Morales.

Though Moore and the newspaper attempted to fight the subpoena, they reached an agreement with the district attorney on Monday that Moore would testify, as long as she was not asked questions about any confidential information, the paper reported.

Morales has since turned himself in.
