The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press announces the publication of the Fourth Edition of TAPPING OFFICIALS’ SECRETS, the most comprehensive guide available to open meetings and records laws in every state and the District of Columbia.

“Every year, the Reporters Committee gets hundreds of phone calls from journalists and lawyers seeking answers to questions about access to government meetings and records,” said Reporters Committee Executive Director Lucy Dalglish. “This unique compendium is an invaluable tool for anyone trying to navigate state open government laws.”

The guide, produced with the assistance of lawyers across the country who are experts in the area, is available as a printed compendium of all states or in individual state booklets. It also is available as a CD-ROM containing a searchable version in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF files), and an HTML version (for Web browsers). The CD-ROM can be used by Windows, Macintosh and other computers.

The Fourth Edition of the guide is available for: $100 for the printed 1,400-page book; $49 for the CD-ROM; and $10 for each separate state booklet. A searchable version of the guide also may be found at the Reporters Committee Web site.

To order, call the Reporters Committee at 703-807-2100. You can also order this and any of our other publications from our Web site (https://www.rcfp.org).
