Science Board Urges Freer Flow of Government Research Information

The National Science Board, an independent group that advises Congress and the White House, said that government research is being hurt by inconsistent and often overly restrictive government policies on release of scientific findings to the public. The board recommended the administration develop a common set of principles encouraging open communication of science and discouraging “the intentional or unintentional suppression or distortion of research findings.” (6/9/06)
