Seattle Won’t Release Records on Wetlands Controversy

The city of Seattle has refused to release more than 130 documents related to its illegal filling of wetlands. It claims an “attorney work product” exemption even though only one-third of the documents involve the City Attorney’s Office according to a city-produced log. “Suddenly, lawyers are being used as a hiding ground for information the government doesn’t want disclosed,” said Michele Earl-Hubbard, president of the Washington Coalition for Open Government.
