The Securities and Exchange Commission, which promotes corporate transparency, is having problems with its own transparency, Bloomberg News reports in a review of the agency’s performance under the Freedom of Information Act. The article quotes former SEC commissioner Edward Fleischman as commenting, `This is an agency that has never done very much disclosure about itself.” The article cites data in a CJOG report on FOIA performance of 25 federal departments and agencies.
