Sen. John Cornyn, sponsor of the OPEN Government Act that would reform the Freedom of Information Act, urged Congress to provide dedicated funding to clear up agency backlogs in fulfilling Freedom of Information requests. Cornyn said the President’s December executive order is “just one important step toward more sunshine in government …but more remains to be done,” including the funding help.
