Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy, D-VT., made a Senate floor pitch for his Open Government Act, currently blocked by a Republican Senator’s hold on the bill. Sen. Leahy said the soon-to-be 41 years old Freedom of Information Act needs updating and accused the Republican leadership of ignoring requests to debate this bill on the Senate Floor, “needlessly stalling these long-overdue, bipartisan reforms to strengthen FOIA.” (6/28/07)
