The Senate approved a homeland security bill that does not include a controversial amendment that would have criminalized the disclosure of classified information in certain congressional reports. The bill implements many of the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. The amendment, offered by Sen. Jon Kyl, R-AZ, was rejected as irrelevant. (3/19/07)
