Senate Approves New Safeguards for Whistleblowers
· Story link
The Senate unanimously approved an update of the Whistleblower Protection Act and will now have to work out differences with the House, which overwhelmingly passed similar legislation last March. President Bush has promised a veto. The Senate bill would permit multi-circuit review of cases for up to five years, taking cases out of the sole jurisdiction of the Washington court and would protect whistleblowers whose security clearance is revoked as retaliation.
