SF Judge Leaves Compensation Committee Meeting Door Slightly Ajar

A Superior County judge said the University of California’s Board of Regents can meet in private committee sessions to discuss pay issues as long as they take no action. Judge Winifred Smith said the compensation committee cannot decide on a recommendation in closed session. The San Francisco Chronicle brought the suit seeking transparency after reporting that top UC officials had been given millions in bonuses, relocation packages and other types of compensation at closed door meetings.
