After a recent court ruling that required Yale University to open its campus police records, private colleges across the country are debating whether they should release similar records. All colleges that take part in federal financial aid programs are required to produce annual reports about crime on campus, public crime logs and warnings, but these often do not provide detailed information, such as names or locations.
