New York Gov. George Pataki signed a bill requiring state agencies to accept electronic Freedom of Information Law requests for public records but he vetoed another e-FOI bill as too costly. He’s given no hint what he’ll do on a third bill dealing with legal fee recovery in public records cases. (8/4/06)
