Rep. Ron Paul, R-TX, proposed a House rule requiring that printed copies of legislation get to members 10 days before any vote and that representatives have at least 72 hours to review substantive amendments before a vote. The title says the purpose is to make sure that “members have a reasonable amount of time to read legislation that will be voted upon.” The resolution makes no mention of public awareness. (1/31/07)
