A weekly newspaper in Nashville won a public records lawsuit against Gov. Phil Bredesen, forcing disclosure of all e-mails, memos, and drafts related to a new protocol for the execution of death row inmates in Tennessee. The Attorney General’s office argued that certain internal information fell under ther “deliberative process privilege” and was protected from public scrutiny. (4/26/07)
