Texas Attorney Greg Abbot told El Paso County it can go ahead with plans to post civil and criminal court records online and charge a fee for access. Currently, dockets are posted but copies of documents must be obtained at the clerk’s offices. The AG’s opinion said the Commissioner’s Court can limit what information will not be posted, such as Social Security and bank account numbers. (8/29/07)
