Saying, “We are on dangerously thin ice,” Texas journalists have overcome years of ambivalence and are pushing for a state law that allows reporters to shield their notes, tapes and identification of sources. Similar bills have been filed in both the Texas Senate and House and would give journalists a qualified privilege for the protection of confidential and non-confidential sources and work product.
