Texas Observer Wins Right to View Capitol Security Camera Footage

The Texas Observer won a 18-month battle with the state’s Department of Public Safety to view security camera footage of a back hallway at the Texas Capitol where the magazine said a major GOP contributor had been twisting the arms of Republican legislators for votes. Judge Stephen Yelenosky informed the DPS and the Attorney General’s Office, which supported the magazine’s request, that he would rule in favor of making the record public. (11/27/06)
