The White House is fighting to keep even historic copies of the President’s Daily Brief from being made public, but a 1970 memorandum describing the CIA’s preparation has been released by the Nixon Library. It makes the process sound less than classified with item selection based “to a large extent …from a sense of what’s timely as judged from the New York Times, press, and wire service coverage.”   11/30/07)
