A federal judge told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to review its regulation keeping tire safety information confidential. Judge Richard Leon told the agency to reconsider its decision to keep the information from the public because release would do “competitive harm.” Manufacturers had sought to keep the data secret, citing exemptions from the Freedom of Information Act.
