An investigation by House Republican staff found that two deputy directors in Food and Drug Administration failed to keep accurate public calendars of their meetings and contacts with the industry they regulated. The public calendar for two safety officials, Drs. Janet Woodcock and Steven Galson showed Woodcock’s had only three entries between Jaunuary 1999 and December 2006, and Galson’s no entries from July 2005 forward. The FDA has started filling in the calendar, showing meetings with drug company executives, lobbyists and others. (7/2/07)
