Officials in a Connecticut town said Friday their municipal Web site, which has been offline for a month, will be back online in a few weeks once the site is capable of complying with recent expansions of the state’s public records laws.

According to The Hartford Courant, officials are working on technology to enable town employees to post to the Web site public information such as meeting notices, agendas and minutes promptly after they are released.

Harwinton, along with several other, smaller Connecticut towns, pulled down its municipal page in early October, citing the expense of providing more public information on the Web, rather than risk not complying with the revised records law.
