Score an open government point for the federal Transportation Security Administration, which hasn’t many transparency points to its credit. A TSA official read a news account of Portland’s TriMet system refusing to disclose information on bus ridership and contacted the local agency, advising that ridership data does not fall under national security guidelines. TSA said the information should be released. (5/11/07)
