University Foundation Records Public, South Dakota AG Says

The State Attorney General has advised North Dakota State University that its private research foundation violated state law in mid-2005 when it failed to provide records sought by an environmental group, the Dakota Resource Council. The council wanted to know about the school’s research contracts with Monsanto Co. The foundation was “reluctant to provide any information that would help to determine whether or not it was a public entity,” Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem said. (1-11/06)
