University of Iowa Keeps Faculty Directory Data Public

Interim University of Iowa President Gary Fethke vetoed a measure that would have restricted access to directory information of UI faculty and employees. He said the university needs to be accountable to the public. The proposal Fethke rejected would have allowed faculty and employees to decide whether addresses and phone numbers would be listed in the official directory. (11/6/096)
