The Illinois Appellate Court ruled Southern Illinois University can’t deny public access to its employment contract with its president and other officials. The information was sought by the Anna Gazette Democrat, a weekly newspaper. A lower court had ruled for the university. Said the appeals court: “The disclosure of information that bears on the public duties of public employees and officials shall not be considered an invasion of privacy.” (8-21-07)
