A federal district court denied an Associated Press request for photos of Guantanamo detainees, saying the photos are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act and release would endanger national security. The government argued that detainees might not cooperate in interrogation if their pictures were published. Earlier another federal judge ordered release of the names and nationalities of the detainees. (12/2/06)
