Utah, one of just three states without a formal court rule or law protecting reporters from revealing their confidential sources, is exploring a change. An advisory committee to the Utah Supreme Court has drafted a proposal to create a reporter’s privilege by court rule, but media in the state say the draft is “more like Swiss-cheese protections.” (2/26/07)
