The “Death of a thousand cuts,” is how media attorney Jeff Hunt refers to the legislative attack on the Utah public records law in the current session. There aren’t quite that many exemption bills on the table, but the Salt Lake Tribune’s Rebecca Walsh reports that a legislative task force prompted by privacy concerns has prompted a dozen new bills that would limit public access in some way.
