Veteran Journalist Hodding Carter Is Sunshine Week"s Honary Chairman

Hodding Carter III, the son of a newspaper publisher who went on to become a prominent print and broadcast journalist in his own right, will serve as honorary chairman for this year’s Sunshine Week March 12-18. Sunshine Week is a national initiative led by the American Society of Newspaper Editors (ASNE) to draw attention to the importance of open government and freedom of information issues. This is the second year national observance., following a practice started in Florida in 2002 with a “Sunshine Sunday”. (2/1/06)
