The Virginia Freedom of Information Advisory Council said it will review whether the state’s list of persons licensed to carry concealed weapons should be a record released to the public. The review was prompted by the online publishing of the list by the Roanoke Times in conjunction with a column by editorial writer Christian Trejbal, who obtained the list through a Freedom of Information Act request. In response to protests that followed, the paper removed the list from its website. (3/21/07)
