Nonprofit and government-run hospitals in West Virginia may not exclude the public from decision-making meetings, the state’s high court ruled in a unanimous opinion. The case questioned whether medical staff executive committee meetings were exempt from the state’s Open Hospital Proceedings Act. The medical staff executive committee has authority over medical staff functions. (3/2/07)
