Washington’s Department of Corrections, which declined to make available benefits records in electronic format and won a suit filed challenging that decision, agreed to pay the plaintiff $65,000 – and provide the records. The settlement follows a directive from Gov. Chris Gregoire to all departments to make electronic copies of non-exempt records available. (11/1/07)
