White House Launches Series of Anti-Leak Initiatives

The Bush Administration has begun several new initiatives aimed at journalists and government sources who may have leaked classified information, the Washington Post reported, including FBI investigations, polygraph testing inside the CIA, and a Justice Department warning that reporters could be prosecuted under the Espionage Act of 1917 for accepting classified information. The actions follow disclosures of possibly illegal warrantless domestic surveillance ordered by the White House and CIA operation of secret overseas prisons where terrorist suspects are interrogated.
