Both sheriff’s offices and local police declined to make public records available in about half of the instances requested in a audit of compliance with state law conducted by the Wyoming Press Association. And school districts were reluctant to give out information on teacher salaries. In each of these areas, the agencies compliance rate was lower than in a similar audit five years ago. (1/5/05)
