UPDATE: NEVADA

09/21/98

Two Reno (Nev.) Gazette-Journal photographers arrested by police while taking pictures during a riot in Reno have pleaded not guilty to criminal charges filed against them.

Jim Hardesty, a lawyer for the newspaper, entered written pleas on behalf of Mark Studyvin, a staff photographer for the Gazette-Journal, on a charge of obstructing justice and resisting arrest and Steve Keegan, a photojournalism intern, on a rioting charge. Trial dates have been set for early November.

(Nevada v. Studyvin, Nevada v. Keegan; Media Counsel: Jim Hardesty, Reno)
