The Society of Environmental Journalists notes that two bills now pending in Congress would seal basic “phone book” information gathered by the Agriculture Department in developing livestock registries The information that would be exempted from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act by House bills 2301 and 1018 includes the name, address, telephone number and type of livestock raised of registered farms.
