An Alexandria, Va. City Council member is pushing to establish a local "Do Not Deliver" registry, barring publishers from delivering newspapers to residents who ask to be on the list, WJLA/NewsChannel 8 reported.
One city resident told the news station she’s particularly irked by unrelenting delivery of the free Examiner, which she says she has tried repeatedly to have stopped. Under City Councilman Justin Wilson’s plan, set to be considered in January, Alexandria residents would have to sign up for the Do Not Deliver list. Publishers would then face escalating fines for sending papers to their addresses.
