The Asian Law Caucus and the Electronic Frontier Foundation sued the Department of Homeland Security because it refused to release records on the questioning and the searches of travelers coming into the United States. The caucus said it had received complaints from California residents who said they had been questioned about their families, associations, religious practices, political beliefs, and volunteer activities.
