A federal judge decided Wednesday that security measures planned for the Democratic National Convention in Denver this month won’t unduly infringe on protesters’ rights, according to the Associated Press.
The American Civil Liberties Union had sued the city and the Secret Service seeking a court order to revise their security plans and bring protesters closer to the Pepsi Center, where the convention will be held. U.S. District Judge Marcia S. Krieger declined to do so, saying that what protesters call the "freedom cage," where they are to be corralled, will put them within earshot of the delegates, the AP said.
