Fox announced on Monday that it does not intend to pay a $91,000 fine imposed by the Federal Communications Commission for a program that aired in 2003.
The fine stems from the reality show Married by America, which featured pixilated nudity. The FCC, which is racing against the five-year stature of limitations, initially proposed a $1.18 million penalty against over 150 stations, but wound up fining only 13 Fox-owned and Fox-affiliated stations.
“Fox will not be paying the indecency fine imposed by the Federal Communications Commission against five of its owned stations,” the network said in a statement released on Monday. “Sinclair Broadcast Group and Mountain Licenses LP will also not be paying the indecency fine.”
